No one ever mentions these things, so I will.
This fall, when I took the kids to get their annual checkups at the doctor, the only comment the doctor made that seemed connected to my identification of the oldest as being homeschooled was, “So, are you going to teach Latin?”
Last night, we attended the Christmas party for DOB’s Rotary club. We sat at the table with the superintendent of the local district and the principal of the school D1 doesn’t go to, and their wives, and nobody said anything in the least hostile when I mentioned we homeschooled. We all had a very pleasant evening.
So there. Not everyone is out to get homeschoolers. Maybe we just live in an exceptionally nice part of the country.
We think so.
